Welcome to The Daily Nash

So if you’re reading this you have found your way onto The Daily Nash.  Plenty of puns intended on the excellent The Daily Mash (NSFW), but if you did typo and intend to read on thank you for taking the time to read the articles here.

So how does someone introduce a blog? Well dear reader I guess we should start with who I am and what exactly is The Daily Nash.

For myself I am an Englishman living near to Paris working in an internal communication role for a leading computer game company.  Generally my day to day work is making sure my company’s employees have the information they need as well as running the regional intranet where a lot of that information is stored.

So why start up a blog then I hear you cry (all 2 of you :-) ). I’ve been very interested in the effectiveness of social media and the many variable ways people utilise it.  Some people overload, think of the TMI (too much information) crowd, some broadcast one way, others use it to share ideas and information quickly.  I tend to favour the collaborative approach and it is why I prefer services such as Twitter over other services such as Facebook.

I have been using Twitter for quite awhile I had always wanted to start up a blog as I found twitter to be a great communication medium but not strong enough on its own to discuss points more in-depth (which is the point of twitter).

So for 2010 I created The Daily Nash to share, hopefully get input from others out there along the way, on things such as;

  • Running an Intranet on the tactical and strategic side.
  • Using SharePoint 2007 and 2010 in a corporate environment
  • Social Media tools such as blogs and Twitter
  • The occasional foray into some of my personal tastes in music and film
  • Lots of bad jokes :-)

The plan is to have an update each weekday, at least just a short update sharing one or two things with a feature article every so often.  Plus every Sunday morning there will be a post of all the tweets I have made which will have useful or fun links contained within.

Check back tomorrow when I’ll have an article out on how to launch your very own blog.

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.
